We’ve got an exciting opportunity for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic primary school in Streford, Trafford. You’ll be supporting primary-aged children with Autism, helping them thrive in their learning and development.
The Role of Special Needs Teaching Assistant:
- Special Needs Teaching Assistant at primary in Stretford, Trafford, supporting children with Autism
- Start Date: ASAP
- Contract: Long-term, with the chance to go permanent.
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am–3:30 pm.
- Pay: £90–105 per day (DOE), paid directly through Now Education – no umbrella companies!
- Equal pay to perm staff from 13th onwards.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Provide one-on-one and small-group support to primary-aged pupils with Autism and learning needs.
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of additional activities and tasks.
- Provide interventions in communication and numeracy & literacy when required.
- Build strong relationships to create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
- Help children develop social skills, emotional resilience, and confidence.
- Work closely with teachers, families, and external professionals to ensure pupils get the tailored support they need.
- Encourage independence and celebrate every child’s achievements, no matter how small.

What We’re Looking For:
- A CV showcasing your education and work history.
- Proof of Right to Work & Address in the UK.
- A valid DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Two professional references.
- Experience working with children with Autism or additional needs is preferred, but a positive and proactive attitude is key!
