Now Education is recruiting SEND Learning Support Workers to join a vibrant and highly supportive SEND School and College in Altrincham, rated Outstanding by Ofsted.
About the Role:
This is an excellent opportunity to work in a specialist educational setting that caters for students aged 11–25 with a wide range of SEND, including:
- Autism (verbal and non-verbal)
- PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities)
- Complex Needs
- Medical Needs
- Challenging Behaviour
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored 1:1 and group support for students with SEND
Assist with personal care, mobility, and feeding where required
Support students with communication and social development
Implement EHCP targets and behaviour support strategies
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to provide holistic care
Maintain accurate records and contribute to progress tracking
The Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with children or young adults with SEND (school, residential or care setting)
Calm, patient, and resilient with a passion for supporting young people
Knowledge of Makaton, PECS, or communication aids is desirable but not essential
Manual handling, personal care and Team Teach training advantageous (training can be provided)
Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
