Now Education is currently recruiting an experienced and passionate Carpentry and Joinery Lecturer to deliver Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 Site Carpentry courses at a well-established Further Education college in Manchester.
This is an ongoing supply role with immediate start, ideal for an industry professional or FE lecturer who thrives on passing on their skills in a classroom and workshop setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, hands-on lessons across L1–L3 Site Carpentry programmes
- Teach both theoretical and practical elements of carpentry and joinery
- Create lesson plans, schemes of work, and assessment materials
- Assess student progress and provide feedback that supports development
- Maintain high standards of health & safety in workshop environments
- Support learners to achieve their qualifications and progress to employment or higher learning
- Work collaboratively with curriculum teams and Now Education consultants
Requirements:
Essential:
- A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or working towards)
- A Level 3 qualification (or higher) in Site Carpentry or a related discipline
- Previous experience delivering carpentry and joinery in an FE setting
- Up-to-date knowledge of current industry standards and qualifications
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one through Now Education)
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
Desirable:
- Assessor qualifications (e.g. A1, TAQA, D32/33)
- Experience teaching apprentices or adult learners
- Experience using e-portfolios or online learning platforms
