1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant

Now Education are looking for a Level Three SEND Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a pupil in a SEND School in Trafford.  The role is for a SEND School located in Sale and will commence asap.

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant you will play a vital role in the development and education of the byoung person.  Your passion for working with young people who have SEND, along with your experience and skills, will contribute to creating a positive and enriching learning environment.

You will support in the educational, social, emotional, physical and sensory development of the individual pupil, under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, SENCo and class teacher. You will assist in the implementation of the pupil’s Statement/EHCP and Individual Education Plan (IEP) and help to monitor their progress.

Requirements:

  • You must have a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or a teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with adults, children or young people on a 1:1 basis.
  • Experience working with adults, children or young people with autism or special educational needs is a plus.
  • Familiarity with implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) is beneficial.
  • You must have the patience to provide 1:1 support to adults, children or young people with SEND needs.
  • Be creative in your approach to learning and delivering the curriculum.
  • Have high expectations of pupils’ achievements and a commitment to excellent standards.
  • Work well as part of a team.
  • Be enthusiastic, energetic and committed to making learning exciting.
  • Have excellent communication skills with children and adults.
  • You must be able to apply for an Enhanced DBS or have a DBS certificate on the update service.

– Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
– Communicate effectively with parents regarding their young persons progress and development.
– Collaborate with other educators to create a cohesive learning environment.

– Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
– Ability to engage and connect with young people on their level.
– Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with young people.
– Excellent organisational skills to plan and implement activities effectively.
– Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
