If you’re already a qualified teacher, good news! The process is straightforward and simple. If you’re planning to teach at a secondary school level, you need a degree in the subject you plan to teach. In some cases, you may also need to enrol in an SKE (Subject Knowledge Enhancement) course.
If you’re not a qualified teacher, you’ll need a 2:2 degree or above and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). The recognised teaching qualifications are BEd, BA/BSc, and PGCE.

The process of joining Now Education couldn’t be simpler, but there are some things we need from you to ensure we protect everyone involved. Please have the following on hand:
Arrive well before the start of the school day, and have anything you need to prepare on hand. If this is your first time working at a particular school, be sure to introduce yourself to the permanent staff. At the end of the day, leave the classroom clean and tidy. It’s also a good idea to leave a short summary of events for the returning teacher!
We’re always on hand to support you. When you work with us, you’re partnered with your main consultant, who will be contactable whenever you need them. Alternatively, you can contact your local office and one of our team members will be happy to assist you.
That’s entirely up to you! We offer flexibility in daily cover, long-term and permanent.
Your experience, qualifications, specialisations, and the length of your contract are all considered when calculating your daily rate. We always take into account market rates and ensure you’re receiving a fair remuneration package.
You get paid on a weekly basis.
No. We don’t charge any fees for the supply staff in our network. There may be a fee for your DBS, if applicable.
This will depend on your placement. In general, primary school teachers would be expected to mark all work completed in that day; while secondary school teachers may only be required to mark during longer placements.
For short-term placements, you should be provided with lesson plans by the schools, but it’s always a good idea to come prepared with a backup plan if need be!
We’re in your corner when you need us, and you can always contact your consultant for support or with any questions.
We partner with Primary, Secondary, and SEND schools across England and Wales.
We place supply teachers and supply support staff across Primary, Secondary, and SEND schools, with all subject specialisations accounted for.
It’s essential for all our candidates to hold (or be willing to apply for) an enhanced DBS.
You are automatically opted into a pension in week 13 of your payroll. If you choose to opt out of your pension, you can do so by contacting our payroll team via email hello@noweducation.co.uk
Simply get in touch with your requirements, and we’ll match you with suitable staff!
Child safeguarding is at the core of our service, and we go to great lengths to ensure the supply staff in our network are fully vetted and qualified.
We’re proud to be Standards in Recruitment (SiR) accredited, one of the three Crown Commercial Services (CCS) approved accreditation bodies. This certification is a best practice quality standard, and means that we go above and beyond the usual safeguarding practices.
In addition to an internal compliance team, we are also independently audited to ensure we always adhere to our high standards.
All candidates must attend interviews with a Now Education consultant, where we discuss experience and future opportunities. At this point, original documentation must be provided to verify the candidates’ identity and qualifications. For permanent posts, interviews are usually held by the client at their premises.
The following checks are completed for all staff placed by Now Education:
