We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Garston, Liverpool L19 area starting in October 2025. This full-time position involves supporting a Year 4 pupil with Special Educational Needs, providing 1:1 support to ensure the student thrives in their learning environment. You will also provide general classroom assistance to the teacher and support other students where needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil with ADHD & challenging behaviour, assisting with their academic, social, and emotional development.
- Help facilitate the pupil’s engagement with the curriculum and ensure their individual learning needs are met.
- Support the classroom teacher with general teaching duties and classroom management.
- Work collaboratively with other teaching staff, providing additional support where required in the class.
- Assist with the preparation and delivery of educational resources and activities.
- Help create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role
- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills are essential.
- Ability to support students in a variety of tasks and encourage independence.
- A proactive, flexible approach to assisting in the classroom and 1:1 support.
- A positive attitude, with a genuine desire to support children in their educational journey.
