We have an exciting opportunity for a SEN Teaching Assistant at a special needs primary school in the Trafford area. You’ll be working closely with a 10-year-old student with Autism and emotional needs, helping them navigate their educational journey.

Role:

SEN Teaching Assistant at a dedicated special needs primary school in Trafford.

  • Start date: ASAP
  • Contract: Long-term, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
  • Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am–3:30 pm.
  • Pay: £90–100/day (DOE) – paid directly via Now Education PAYE (no umbrella companies!).

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide one-on-one support to an 11-year-old student with Autism, assisting them in their daily school activities.
  • Implement tailored strategies to manage and positively influence challenging behaviours.
  • Collaborate with teachers and therapists to create and follow individualized learning plans.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive environment that encourages the student’s social and academic growth.
  • Assist with personal care and mobility needs as required.
  • Encourage independence and self-confidence in the student, preparing them for future transitions.

What We Need from You:

  • A detailed CV outlining your education and work history.
  • Proof of Right to Work & Address in the UK.
  • A valid DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
  • At least 2 professional references.
  • Experience working with children with Autism and challenging behaviours is preferred.
  • A compassionate, proactive approach with a commitment to supporting student well-being and development.
