Now Education is currently recruiting for a qualified and passionate Music Teacher to work full-time in a secondary school in Rochdale. This is a long-term position, starting as soon as possible, with potential for extension or permanent placement.
The school is part of a well-established Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) known for its inclusive, supportive, and collaborative environment — making this a great opportunity for both experienced teachers and strong ECTs with a music specialism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Music lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Prepare students for GCSE Music, including performance, composition, and listening skills
- Foster a love for music through classroom learning and extracurricular activities
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom culture where all students feel supported
- Monitor, assess, and report on student progress
- Contribute to the school’s vibrant performing arts department
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Degree in Music or a related subject
- Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 Music in a secondary school setting
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- A passion for music education and student achievement
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
