SLT at the college are seeking dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistants to join their team. The successful candidates will provide invaluable assistance to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring they receive the support necessary to thrive academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with a range of SEND, including but not limited to autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and physical disabilities.
  • Assist students in accessing the curriculum by adapting materials, providing clarification, and facilitating understanding.
  • Support students with organizational skills, time management, and study techniques to enhance their learning experience.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and other professionals to develop and implement personalized learning plans for students.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment where students feel valued, respected, and empowered to succeed.
  • Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders, including parents/guardians and external agencies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience working or volunteering with individuals with SEND.
  • Relevant qualifications.
  • A compassionate and patient demeanor with a genuine passion for supporting others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of the role.
