We are seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic special needs high school in Oldham, catering to students aged 11–19 with Autism and social, emotional, and mental health needs. This role offers the chance to contribute to a supportive educational environment where every student is encouraged to achieve their full potential.
Role:
SEND Teaching Assistant at a progressive special needs high school in Oldham.
- Start date: ASAP
- Contract: Long-term, with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate.
- Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am–3:30 pm.
- Pay: £90–100/day (DOE) – paid PAYE directly through Now Education (no umbrella companies!).
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to students aged 11–19 with Autism and social, emotional, and mental health needs, facilitating their academic and personal development.
- Assist in implementing tailored educational programs that cater to each student’s unique learning requirements.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student engagement and confidence.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to develop and monitor personalized learning plans.
- Support students in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and coping strategies.
- Promote independence and self-advocacy among students, preparing them for life beyond school.

Requirements:
- A comprehensive CV detailing your education and employment history.

- Minimum of 2 professional references.
- Experience working with children or young people with Autism or social, emotional, and mental health needs is preferred.
