Now Education are delighted to be working in partnership with Brentwood SEND school and College who are looking for additional learning support assistants to join their team of dedicated staff.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated team of staff who work cohesively to ensure that the needs of the pupils in the care are met with care, empathy and understanding.
There is potential for a permanent position for the right candidate after a 12 week trail period.
The school and college cater for young people aged between 16-25 who have a range of additional needs; Predominantly Specific Learning Difficulty, Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities, Autism, Complex Needs and Complex and Challenging Behaviour.
All young people who attend the college have an Education Health Care Plan.
The hours of work are Monday – Friday 8.30am-4.00pm starting asap and continuing until at least the end of this academic year.
The role will involve supporting a range of young people and adults who have additional needs whilst they are attending school and college.
You may be asked to work on either a 1:1 basis or with a small group of young people.
You will be supported every step of the way and welcomed by the team as a fellow SEND Specialist LSA.
The ideal candidate will be someone who has experience of supporting children or young people who have a range of SEND. You must be passionate about the role that education can play in the lives of young people and dedicated to giving young people the best opportunities possible.
The school has state of the art facilities such as hydrotherapy, light room, soft play area, music and drama studio, PMLD suite, sensory garden, trampoline, food technology room, life-skills room, bike track with adapted bikes and extensive outdoor areas.
Students also benefit from additional therapies such as Speech and Language, Music, Art and Animal Therapy.
School experience is not necessary but would be a real benefit. If you have supported young people or adults who have additional needs in other setting your experience will be considered.
