Now Education is seeking a passionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join secondary school in Sleaford.
This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with students who need additional support with their Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping students navigate their learning journey and build confidence in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities of SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Assist in preparing lessons that meet the curriculum and key stage requirements.
- Support secondary school students in a Pupil Referral Unit with SEMH needs.
- Provide one-to-one and small group assistance in a classroom setting.
- Promote an inclusive, positive learning atmosphere.
- Work alongside teachers and staff to monitor and support student progress.
- Keep track of student development and report progress to teachers and parents.
- Encourage students to meet their academic and personal goals.
Job Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- CACHE Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Education, or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance.
- Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs in a school or PRU setting or as an SEMH Teaching Assistant is essential.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A passion for supporting students in both their academic and personal development.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
