Are you an experience Safeguarding Office looking for a new challenge?
We are looking for a confident, compassionate, and experienced Safeguarding Officer to join our Alternative Provision in Chesterfield. This critical role is at the heart of our commitment to ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and protection of all pupils. You will be the first point of contact for safeguarding concerns, working closely with staff, families, and external agencies to provide timely, effective support for vulnerable young people.

- 🗓️ Contract: Full-time & Part-time roles available (term time only)
- ⏰Hours: 08:00am – 16:00pm, Monday to Friday
- 💷 Pay: Competitive day rate, paid by PAYE by Now Education
- 🗓️ Start Date: As soon as possible
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (or Deputy DSL), managing all safeguarding referrals and concerns
- Maintain accurate, confidential safeguarding records in line with statutory requirements
- Liaise with social care, health services, police, and other professionals
- Support staff with safeguarding training, advice, and guidance
- Conduct home visits and attend multi-agency meetings where appropriate
Essential Requirements:
- Relevant safeguarding training and experience in a DSL or similar safeguarding role
- Strong knowledge of Keeping Children Safe in Education and other relevant legislation
- Excellent judgement, communication, and record-keeping skills
- Ability to handle sensitive situations calmly and professionally
- You must have a full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle, and business insurance, as regular off-site meetings and home visits are part of the role
