Now Education are working in partnership with a Secondary School in Oldham who require an RE teacher to work on a long term part time basis.
The role is to start on the 15th April with lessons taking place every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
The school is a mixed comprehensive with an excellent reputation within the local community and the succesful candidate will join a team of committed staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cultivate a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel empowered to explore religious beliefs and practices.
- Develop engaging lesson plans that encourage critical thinking, reflection, and respectful dialogue.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methodologies, including experiential learning, multimedia resources, and group discussions, to cater to diverse learning styles.
- Foster moral and ethical development by encouraging students to analyze ethical dilemmas and apply religious teachings to real-world situations.
- Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support students’ holistic growth and development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies, Theology, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Previous experience teaching RE or a related subject at the secondary level is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of religious traditions, scriptures, and ethical teachings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for working with young people.
