Now Education are working  in partnership with a dedicated Pupil Referral Unit in Manchester who are committed to providing high-quality education and care to primary-aged children who require additional support outside of mainstream schooling.  The role will start in September 2024 and will continue until the end of the academic year in July 2025.

Early Career Teachers are welcome to apply if they have had prior experience of working with children who have complex and challenging behaviour.

The Role:

The senior leadership team are seeking a dynamic, compassionate, and experienced Primary School Teacher to join their team. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, resilient, and skilled in delivering engaging, differentiated instruction tailored to meet the diverse needs of their pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons that meet the individual needs of each pupil.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Implement and monitor personalized learning plans for pupils.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including support staff, therapists, and external agencies.
  • Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and provide regular updates to parents and carers.
  • Foster positive relationships with pupils, promoting self-esteem and confidence.
  • Manage challenging behavior effectively, using a range of strategies to support positive outcomes.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training.

About You:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a PRU or with children with additional needs is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of child development and the barriers to learning some children face.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate pupils with diverse needs and backgrounds.
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
