Now Education are working in partnership with an FE College in Birkenhead on the Wirral who require an Engineering lecturer to work on a permanent basis. The role is to start after the Easter Holidays or sooner if the right candidate is available with a salary of £27,647 – £36,042 per annum. The college will consider candidates who do not have a teaching qualification.

The successful candidate will be required to deliver high quality teaching and learning in the curriculum area of Engineering, including the following:
• To carry out formal scheduled teaching, tutorials and student assessment.
• To act as a personal tutor to a group/s of students.
• To prepare learning materials and students’ assignments.
• To mark students’ work and examinations, moderation and verification.
• To operate as part of a team in the monitoring, reviewing and evaluation of all aspects of the programme(s).
• To maintain appropriate programmes, college records and quality system.
• To assist with the annual unit self-assessment exercise in order to monitor and evaluate performance.
• To maintain and implement quality improvements particularly around quality of assessment, verification, moderation activities, course reviews and relevant documents.
• To maintain and improve Health and Safety standards and records as appropriate.
• To carry out tutorials and student assessment.
• To manage learning programmes and curriculum development.
• To manage and supervise student visit programmes.
• To carry out marketing activities such as open evenings etc.
• To assist in student admissions, educational guidance and counselling.
• To use IT to support the student in a flexible learning environment.
• Contribute to the review and evaluation of the curriculum provision.
• Produce schemes of work and lesson preparations.
• Complete all administrative tasks associated with the post.
