Learning Support Assistant (Special School)
Reporting to: Class Teacher
Salary: £83.33 per day
Whilst working for Now Education, you will have the option to work during half terms and summer holidays at holiday play schemes.
Job Summary:
We are seeking several dedicated support workers to join our team in supporting children with autism and special educational needs starting ASAP. The role involves assisting the teacher in providing care and education to children, ensuring a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
– Work closely with children with autism both verbal and non-verbal and other special educational needs, providing individualised support.
– Assist in the care of children during classroom activities.
– Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support the child’s development.
– Help implement educational activities and strategies tailored to each child’s needs.
– Support the teacher in maintaining a safe and stimulating learning environment.
– All aspects of personal care will be required from toileting support, changing and cleaning.
Skills:
– Experience working with children, particularly those with autism or special educational needs.
– Ability to communicate effectively with children, colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
– Passion for educating and supporting children’s development.
– Knowledge of care practices and special education techniques.
