Learning Support Assistant

Now Education are delighted to be working in partnership with Wirral Met College who require additional learning support staff to join their team of committed and talented staff.

The role is to start asap and continue for the rest of the academic year working Monday – Friday 8.30am-4.00pm and interviews will be taking place week commencing the 27th January.

There is potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.

The Role

As an LSA, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students with additional learning needs, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their goals. Your role will include:

  • Providing one-to-one or small-group support to students with learning difficulties, disabilities, or additional needs.
  • Assisting in the delivery of differentiated learning strategies tailored to individual students.
  • Supporting students with literacy, numeracy, and other academic skills, as well as fostering their independence.
  • Encouraging student engagement and participation in college life.
  • Working closely with teaching staff and the wider support team to ensure students receive a holistic and inclusive education.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student progress and support provided.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about education and committed to making a difference. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience supporting, or working with, children, young people or adults with additional needs such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Downs Syndrome, Complex Needs, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties and Complex and Challenging Behaviour.
  • A positive, patient, and empathetic approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • A flexible and adaptable attitude to meet the diverse needs of our students.

While not essential, the following would be an advantage:

  • A relevant qualification in education, support work, or special educational needs.
